ItΓ’β¬β’s one of those tourist myths of you do it I do it everybody does it, itΓ’β¬β’s not bad really but probably would choose to save my sweet quota for something else.

130yen each, very tasty

Tried three shops of red bean rice cake. Theirs is slightly better, therefore a 5-star rating. However it may not worth the queue so much. Therefore just go to the other shops if you wanna avoid the queue, not such a significant difference.

It was very delicious!

The Umegamochi have a nice balance, mochi is not too sticky yet still chewy enough, the red bean paste is not too sweet with slightly saltiness which is good, it is a perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness! Really worth the price!

The cake is delicious and the environment is soothing in the afternoon. The garden is tiny, but it is so calm.

Must try the umegaemochi when you're in Dazaifu. Take a look on how they are making the mochi, while queuing at the cashier. You can also take a rest after strolled through the shrine, by having a lunch, a cup of tea, and an umegaemochi for dessert.

Might be the best umegaemochi shop around here, we always come back during the plum blossom festival and take away. Last time we decided to sit down and have a break during the crowded plum blossom festival. The prices are reasonable and you will get free simple Japanese tea at the restaurant, but we opted for ordering macha tea, too. It was delicious paired with umegaemochi.
